Why I’m going to GCUC

By Liz Elam On April 25, 2014 In Uncategorized

Next week, we will each make the trip to gather together in Kansas City for the 2014 edition of GCUC. We may be leaving our communities behind, but we will each bring our unique experience and expertise with us to share with other coworking managers, owners, operators and enthusiasts from around the globe.

To be completely honest, I really look forward to these annual events, and I’m counting down the days until we all meet in Kansas City. After 10 years of building collaborative communities in Toronto, I’ve also been thinking a lot lately about what’s next, what empowers me to grow and what exactly I hope to learn at this conference.

The agenda itself is packed with speakers and panels that will educate and inform. There is definitely something for everyone and I expect we can all learn a thing or two on Day One, even if it presents itself in the form of a healthy debate. But what inspires me the most about GCUC is you. Well, ‘U’ really.

I am always excited to attend the ‘Unconference’ on Day Two.

I am most interested to hear what you have to say and what you have to share with us.

I happen to learn the most from my peers. You always inspire and empower me.

Just as you will find in any true coworking community, it’s the people who make the trip worth it. It is always so rewarding to be in the company of such an incredible group of innovators, entrepreneurs and genuinely awesome human beings.

You are truly the heart and soul of GCUC.

With such a diverse group of participants this year, there will be quite a selection of interesting and challenging Unconference sessions to attend. This is how you can customize your learning experience and where you can choose to give back to the global coworking community. Almost anything becomes possible when you exchange ideas and collaborate on passion projects with an incredibly talented group such as this.

So if you are wondering what to expect this year at GCUC, just ask yourself what YOU plan on bringing to the table.

I look forward to learning more about what inspires you.

See you in Kansas City!
