Where will GCUC Canada be hosted this year?

Who produces this event?

GCUC was brought to Canada by Ashley Proctor. The GCUC Canada team is a part of the global GCUC network, and each conference is produced locally. Visit the ABOUT page for more information.

Is the conference in English?

Yes, the 2018 Canadian edition is in English. Participants may use the language of their choice during the Unconference sessions.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code, but we will take your picture! Dress comfortably and be yourself. Bring a bathing suit if you want to enjoy the hot springs, casual clothes for relaxing, and your hiking boots if you want to explore the mountains. Pack some warm clothes, as it gets cold at night in Banff and it might even snow...

Does the GCUC Canada conference ticket include meals?

YES! A Vistas Dining Room Breakfast will be provided daily.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided during breaks.
A Vistas Dining Room Lunch will be provided daily.
All happy hour receptions and GCUC Canada events are free for attendees.

How do I get to Banff from the Calgary International Airport?

It takes about 1.5 hours to get to Banff from the Calgary International Airport.
The drive into the mountains is beautiful, and is best experienced as a group in a rental car, or via luxury shuttle.

Where should I stay in Banff?

The Banff Centre conference venue is located midway up a mountain. No joke!

The Banff Centre also has a fantastic selection of newly renovated hotel rooms right on campus, and GCUC Canada has a block of beautiful rooms reserved for you. No need to search for the perfect hotel - we already found it!

Why should I stay on campus at The Banff Centre?

When you stay on campus you get to enjoy all of the fantastic Banff Centre retreat facilities, including the aquatic centre pool and hot tub, climbing wall, gymnasium, restaurants, lounges, spin and yoga classes, art gallery, libraries, and so much more! We encourage all delegates to stay on campus to use the facilities and to be near the conference venue. There are single and double rooms currently available - you can bring a loved one or even share with a friend to save on accommodations!

How do I book my hotel room at the Banff Centre?

We recommend GCUC Canada attendees arrive at the Banff Centre on Saturday October 20th and check out on Wednesday October 24th.

If you are also attending the WWC Retreat as well as GCUC Canada, we recommend you arrive at the Banff Centre on Friday October 19th and check out on Wednesday October 24th.

What’s the best way to get around Banff?

All GCUC events and downtown venues are within walking distance from the hotel rooms on campus. If you are staying on campus at the Banff Centre, no additional transportation in Banff is required.

Taxi's are available. Public transit is available.

Is there an after-party?

Of course there is!

You could volunteer your time! It takes many volunteers to coordinate and present each GCUC event. CONTACT US and let us know what skills you’d like to share.

I want to attend but I can't afford the ticket. Do you offer any discounts?

Check the GCUC Canada facebook page and the @GCUCCanada twitter feed for coupon codes leading up to the main event. We are also offering a GCUC Canada scholarship program for those who might not be able to afford to attend. You can apply for a 2018 scholarship HERE

If for some reason I can’t attend, do you offer refunds?

Sorry, we do not offer any ticket refunds however you can re-sell your ticket. We recommend reaching out to the GCUC Canada Facebook group or the Coworking Google group.
