"Power is the ability to do good things for others." Brooke Astor

My first life was in the business world but once my first child was born my second life began. Having lost connection with my friends I was looking to break my isolation. I found that in a local non-profit for moms. I saw first hand the power of community. When my oldest reached school age, I decided to embark in homeschooling. Having once again lost connection with my friends and knowing the power of community, I decided to found my own non-profit for homeschoolers in my region. I ran that organization for 9 years until I decided it was time to hand over the reins. During my 15 years in non-profits I realized even with all the human compassion and commitment there was very little intermixing of the different social classes and organizations in my area. I want to change that by creating a place in my rural town where everyone is welcome whether it’s corporations, non-profits, freelancers or students. A home away from home where everyone learns, collaborated and grows together to better serve our community.
