Carla Bustamante


Carla Bustamante is a Professor at www.uai.cl, in Santiago de Chile. She teaches entrepreneurship, innovation, and management. As a Fulbright alumni, Carla obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She also holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile.
Carla has been a member of the Chilean Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) team, and an advisor for the Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Committee in the Chilean Agency for Economic Development (CORFO). Currently she is a board member for the accelerator DigevoVentures. In addition she has participated as a mentor and judge in a number of entrepreneurship contests.
Highly involved in policy that fosters the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Carla has conducted research on coworking spaces, international startups, accelerators, and venture capital. She is currently leading a research project funded by the government that explores the determinants of value creation in coworking spaces.
Carla’s research has been published in top tier journals and has been presented in a number of conferences in Europe, the US and Latin America.
