Chad Ballantyne is a father of three “kids” and husband of one wife. 27 years! He’s spent the last 30 years of his life in some form of creative communications as a pastor, speaker, musician, producer, and designer. He’s now the Creative Director of Rhubarb Media, a design studio started in Barrie in 2006 and is the “Tummler” at Simcoe County’s first coworking space, called The Creative Space (TCS) . (www.thecreativespace.ca) TCS has become a hub for freelancers, startups and other digital nomads since 2009. It’s a community space where business, art and life collide.
Chad has participated on the Henery Bernick Entrepreneurship Advisory Council
He has been a keynote or special guest at Georgian college events and in class presentations around marketing and entrepreneurship.
He’s worked with other public sector resource at monthly Eco-system Meetings (OCE, ventureLab, Invest Barrie, YMCA, Small Business Centre, County of Simcoe, etc)
Chad has won a number of small business awards, including the Entrepreneurship Promotion Award for Ontario, with Startup Canada and Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Medal for Entrepreneur’s Champion, small Business of the Year and SOHO Award with Barrie Chamber.
Through his role as Creative Director of Rhubarb Media, he’s been able to brand and creatively market 100s of companies over their 14 year run as a studio. His philosophy around branding has helped many a company find and tell their “story.” His hyper relational style and genuine care, turns clients into family and many of his clients have been with them since the beginning.
Chad’s passion is to help others do what makes them come alive. He has a strong desire to see social change in local communities and through his work with the Creative Space, he has helped 100s of startups and small business start, grow and fly!
