Who produces this event?
GCUC was brought to Canada by Ashley Proctor. GCUC Canada is a part of the global GCUC network, and each conference is produced locally. Visit the ABOUT page for more information.

Is the conference in English?
Yes, the 2019 Canadian edition of GCUC Canada is in English. Participants may use the language of their choice during the Unconference sessions.

What is an Unconference?
The highlight of every GCUC event! The Unconference is a day of democratic engagement and crowd sourced content. GCUC Canada attendees will help craft the agenda and facilitate conversations around topics that interest them most.
There are so many experts and enthusiasts in the crowd – we all have knowledge and experience to share. The GCUC Canada team will pre-program a few sessions that seem to come up year after year, and you will fill in the rest by pitching and voting for the topics you want to learn more about.

Is there a dress code?
No dress code, but we will take your picture! Dress comfortably and be yourself.
You may want to bring a Halloween costume for our epic GCUC Canada Party on October 31st. And don’t forget to pack a warm jacket, as it gets cold at night in October and it might even snow…

Which airport should I fly into?
There are two suitable airports in Toronto, Canada.

What is the best way to get around Toronto?
There are taxis available at both Toronto airports.
For your safety and security, be sure to choose a licensed taxi or limo. Taxis and limos charge flat rates for travel from the airport to destinations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) based on time and distance. You can pay for your fare with cash, credit card or Canadian debit.You can also take the Union Pearson Express from Pearson International Airport.
You can use public transportation (subway, streetcar, and buses) known locally as the TTC.
You can also use the ride-sharing apps Lyft and Uber in Toronto.
Feeling adventurous? Try Bike Share Toronto
Driving in downtown Toronto is not recommended – think New York City. Traffic is often congested and parking is limited and expensive.

Where should I stay in Toronto?
GCUC Canada does not provide or endorse specific accommodations in Toronto.
Check Expedia.ca for local hotels, deals and reviews in DOWNTOWN TORONTO.
Try Airbnb for a more authentic Toronto experience.
Look for GCUC Canada friends to stay with through the GCUC Facebook Forum or Women Who Cowork Group.

Does the GCUC Canada conference ticket include meals?
Some meals are included.
Breakfast is not included, however there will be a coffee and juice bar.
Lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided for all attendees October 29th – 31st.
Dinner is not included.Food and refreshments will not be provided during the Toronto Coworking Tours. Participants will be able to bring or purchase their own food & drinks on November 1st.

Of course there is!
If this is your first time at GCUC Canada, you’ll learn that we work hard AND play hard!

I want to attend but I can't afford the ticket. Do you offer any discounts?
Check the GCUC Canada Facebook page, the GCUC Canada twitter & instagram feeds for discount codes leading up to the main event. Sometimes there are volunteer opportunities in exchange for admission to GCUC Canada. Reach out to the team at [email protected] We are also offering a GCUC Canada Scholarship Program for those who might not be able to afford to attend. You can apply for a 2019 GCUC Canada Scholarship HERE.

How can I help at GCUC Canada?

How do I get invited to the GCUC attendees-only Facebook group?

Will the conference be live streamed?
No. Live content is exclusively for GCUC Canada attendees.

What is your twitter / instagram handle and hashtags?
We are @GCUCCanada on both twitter and instagram, and during the event we will use the hashtags #GCUCCANADA and #GCUC2019

If I can’t attend, do you offer refunds?
No, sorry. We do not offer any ticket refunds however you can re-sell your ticket. We recommend reaching out to the GCUC Canada Facebook group or the GCUC Facebook Forum.
CONTACT US after the sale so we can update the name on your ticket and conference badge.
Tickets can be transferred ONE TIME free of charge so long as the request is submitted before 5pm EST on October 1st 2019.
Any ticket transfers requested after October 1st 2019 are subject to a $100.00 CAD fee.

Can I change my profile after it has been submitted?
No. All changes have to be made by one of our GCUC Canada team members so PLEASE check your profile carefully before submitting it.
