GCUC, the World’s Largest Coworking Conference is Returning to London.
The Global Coworking Unconference Conference (GCUC) is returning to the UK this September.
Pronounced “juicy”, GCUC is the largest coworking conference series in the world. Following the success of the first London event last year, founder Liz Elam said, “We are so excited to bring GCUC back to London. 2018 was an incredible year and 2019 promises so much.” She adds, “The world’s largest coworking event is now truly established in world’s leading market.”
GCUC UK 2019 will build on last year’s European GCUC debut, with more brilliant panels and speakers. There will be awards, plenty of networking opportunities and a great party. The conference will, again, be a celebration of the amazing workspace industry that is changing the face of real estate.

Last year, GCUC UK attendees were inspired by the standout panels and content, including “The Interview” with the Office Group’s Olly Olsen and Charlie Green. Their chat about starting out and growing their business was enlightening.
Attendees were also engrossed by “The Great Debate – Is the Coworking bubble going to Burst?” Chaired by the brilliant Mat Oakley of Savills, the conclusion was that the bubble is not going to burst and the coworking industry is here to stay. But watch out for increased competition, pricing pressure and industry diversification.

The Evolving Workspace Industry
The market for coworking has evolved over time to encapsulate a number of different services, including serviced offices, executive suites, proworking, innovation hubs and hybrid spaces, (which incorporate private office space, meeting rooms, lounges and coworking.)
Industry growth continues at a phenomenal rate and, according to data collected by Instant Offices, the market is predicted to grow from 32,000 spaces globally to over 140,000 by 2028. As GCUC UK producer Justin Harley explains, “These are exciting times for coworking industry.”
Harley cautions, however, that enthusiasm for the sector must be tempered by a dose of reality saying, “The combination of falling rates in London, increased competition and a fast-evolving client demand, means operators will need to work harder to attract new customers than ever before. It doesn’t matter whether you own, lease or manage your space, you better know your customer and cater for their needs.”
Thought Leadership Meets Practical Know-how at GCUC UK
This year, GCUC UK will focus on how to stand out in a crowd.
The event will combine thought leadership with practical know-how. We will hear from occupiers about their changing needs and expectations as well as sessions on sales, marketing, technology and design. On top of all this we will bring expert market commentary and industry data.
We will also recognize those in the sector that are leading the way, with our Awards, and we’ll run our coworking Tours of London’s most amazing spaces. There will be a lively Unconference, where GCUC attendees choose the content and discussion topics and loads of fun.

Who should attend GCUC?
GCUC is at the junction of coworking, real estate, investment, technology and the future of work. It’s a melting pot where investors, operators, agents and owners can collaborate, share ideas, and network with their peers from around the UK and beyond.
Despite a phenomenal amount of press scrutiny and all the associated buzz around the concept of “coworking”, there are still misconceptions in the broader real estate market as to what it exactly entails. If you are in the traditional real estate sector, this event is a must. If only to learn what all the industry noise is about. If you run or are thinking of running, a flexible space, you can’t miss GCUC. There are a number of Early Bird tickets available so click here to get your Early Bird ticket.
Where and when is GCUC UK?
The conference takes place on the 23rd & 24th September at ETC venues at 200 Aldersgate London, just a five minute walk from Barbican and St Paul’s underground stations. Tickets go on sale 7th March with some great Early Bird offers at uk.gcuc.co.
If you’re interested in sponsoring or speaking at the event, we would love to hear from you. Email [email protected].
