The coworking industry continues to thrive, and the latest UK & Ireland Coworking Report, produced by CoworkingCafe (by Yardi), provides powerful insights into its growth. As a long-time supporter of the coworking ecosystem, Yardi has been a key collaborator of GCUC UK, helping shape the conversation around flexible workspaces, innovation, and the future of work.
And the data? It’s all good news for the sector. Here’s what you need to know:
🚀 3,090 coworking spaces across the UK, with 895 in Greater London alone—making up 29% of the total market. Manchester ranks second with 78 spaces. Next in line are Birmingham and Bristol with 55 and 53 coworking spaces, while Edinburgh (46) and Leeds (44) round out the top markets.
💷 Dedicated desks? National median: £210/month. But if you’re in Brighton and Hove, expect to pay £300/month—the highest in the UK. Meanwhile, Aberdeen offers the lowest rate at £180/month.
📍 Ireland on the rise—236 coworking spaces, nearly half in Dublin. And yes, it’s pricier: a dedicated desk costs €295/month, open workspaces €200/month, and meeting rooms €35/hour.
🏢 Top operators dominating the scene: Regus leads with 202 locations, followed by Fora (65), Workspace Group (60), Spaces (52), BizSpace (49), The Office Group (48), WeWork (45), Landmark (40), x+why (35), Orega (30), and Huckletree (25).
