  • What does GCUC stand for?

    GCUC – Global Coworking Unconference Community

  • Why do you call it juicy?

    We noticed when you say the acronym GCUC it sounds a lot like “juicy”.

  • What is an unconference?

    An unconference is a session in which the attendees choose the topics of discussion. It’s basically a day of crowd-sourced content. Because the attendees themselves run it, it functions as more of an open conversation. Check out our unconference video here.

  • Where will GCUC be hosted this year?

    NYC baby. More specifically Convene.

  • Do you have any transportation recommendations?

    We love Lyft and Uber! If you are old fashioned there are also lots of taxis. New York City also has those cool electric scooters.

  • How do I sponsor GCUC Coworking Conference?

  • Will the event be live streamed?

    Yes! We are offering a virtual GCUC experience. Tickets can be purchased on the ticketing link up top.

  • What is your twitter handle and hashtag?

    @GCUCGlobal and during the conference we will use the hashtag #GCUCNA

  • If for some reason I can’t attend do you offer refunds?

    No, I’m sorry we do not. You can re-sell your ticket (if it explicitly says that it is transferable). We recommend the GCUC Facebook group or the Coworking Google group. Contact [email protected] after the sale so we can change the name on your ticket and conference badge.

    Early bird, week out and door tickets are non transferable.

    Some other tickets can be transferred one time, free of charge as long as the request is submitted before 5pm CST on September 2nd 2021.

    Any ticket transfers requested after September 2nd 2021 are subject to a $100USD fee.

    If you purchased a ticket package, the package may not be broken up in any way. It can only be transferred to one person one time.

  • How do I get invited to the GCUC attendees-only Facebook group?

    If you buy a ticket you’ll be invited. If for some reason you were not please email us at [email protected].

  • Can I volunteer?

    Yes! We love volunteers. Please email us at [email protected] with a copy of your resume. Let us know your amazing skills and what you’re interested in doing, oh and how you heard about GCUC.

  • What airport should I fly into?

    You can fly into any of the three major airports but Newark is the closest.

    Newark, New Jersey (Main venue on the West Side, this is the closest)

  • Where should I stay?

    The following hotels are partners of the Convene Venue GCUC will be hosted at.

  • Is there a dress code?

    Bring your thinking cap for the conference / unconference sessions and your super-fancy-dancey pants for the happy hours.

  • Do you have a map of coworking spaces in the host city? Or Tours?

    Yep! We are working on curating a map for you- it will be up soon.

    As far as tours go- we are in the process of creating a couple group tours as well as a self guided tour guide. Check back closer to GCUC.

  • Do I need a Visa?

    Possibly! Please make sure that you are checking to see if you are required to have a visa when booking your travels.

  • What if I have dietary restrictions?

    Please email [email protected] with your requests. We can not guarantee that we can accommodate all requests but we will do our very best. All requests must be submitted by April 1st.

  • Can I change my profile after it has been submitted?

    No, all changes have to be made by one of our team members so PLEASE double check your profile before submitting it.

  • Is there somewhere I can drop in to get some work done?

    YES! Hold tight and we will have more information on spaces accepting drop-ins.

  • What are the operating standards and safety protocols for GCUC in NYC?

    GCUC will comply with the rules and regulations set by our venue Convene, New York City, the state of New York and the United States. We are monitoring the situation closely as our first priority is always our community’s health and safety.

  • Is proof of Covid-19 vaccination required to attend GCUC NA at Convene?

    Yes, if you are planning to attend the conference onsite at Convene.

    Please see the Convene policy below:

    “Beginning September 13, we will require proof of vaccination status for all employees, clients, members, and guests who visit us at any of our physical locations. If you start the vaccination process by September 13 and can show that you had at least one shot, then you will be permitted to enter Convene. We will continue to prioritize your safety and peace-of-mind at our physical locations, and offer the virtual and hybrid options necessary to be inclusive of all members of our shared community.”

  • Does GCUC offer scholarships?

    Yes. Fill out an application here.

  • How do I access the GCUC Community membership?

    All tickets come with a free year access code. The email that was used to purchase the tickets will receive a code a month before the event. If you have not received it by September 1st, please email [email protected]

  • I’m looking for a consultant. Does GCUC offer this service?

    Yes! You can email [email protected] and someone from our team will be in touch.

  • What does the GCUC Online virtual ticket get me?

    If you can’t make it in person but want to join us, we’d love to invite you to attend virtually.
    The event will run real time on September 27-28th in CST then replayed overnight for those of you tuning in across the world.

    We are using the technology Convene built in house so there are a handful of cool features.

    Here is what you can expect from the virtual GCUC experience: 
    -Access to live and replayed feed of the Fundamentals of Flex and GCUC content
    -Interactive chat with attendees, partners, experts and team members
    -Access to event downloads real time
    -Access to the speaker and sponsor portal to connect with those that are helping shape and steer our industry
    -Ability to weigh in via polls and surveys
    -One year of membership to the GCUC Community and the GCUC Places network with a ticket purchase. 
    -If joining us live, opportunity to ask questions digitally real time. 

  • If I purchased a ticket to GCUC Seattle will it be transferred to GCUC North America?

    Yes! All Seattle tickets will be directly transferred to this event. If you can not attend in person, you are welcome to sell and transfer your ticket to someone else or email us and we can get you set up to join us via our virtual option.

  • What is GCUC's Code of Conduct Policy?
