Emergent Research and the Global Coworking Conference Unconference are partnering on a survey looking at how people work in coworking spaces and what roles networks and networking play in the coworking experience. We need your help to make this survey a success.
The coworking industry has long stressed the value that comes with belonging to a coworking community. Often described as “accelerated serendipity”, the coworking industry asserts that members accrue substantial benefits from meeting, mixing with and collaborating with other members of their coworking space.
While anecdotal evidence overwhelming supports this point of view, there’s been limited industry wide research on this topic. The goal of this survey is provide quantitative data and insights on how coworking members benefit from the networks and networking opportunities available to them through membership in a coworking facility.
Based on our prior research, we believe this survey will show most coworking space members see an increase in the size and usefulness of their networks due to their coworking membership. If true, the survey results will provide solid, defensible data showing that membership in a coworking space provides substantial value beyond simply being a good place to work.
Please help us by encouraging your space members to take this survey (and also take it yourself). The survey results will be presented at the GCUC conference in May and the results will be made public.
