Launching the  Coworky Awards!

The Global Coworking Unconference Conference (GCUC – pronounced juicy) is known for being little, well…off-beat, unique and different.  We don’t follow the rules and we don’t pay attention to what everyone else is doing.  We march to the beat of our own drummer. We do our own thing and it seems to resonate and attract a very diverse and passionate following.

We have been talking about creating an industry awards program for years and this year is the year we finally made it happen. By they way, kudos to Coshare for coming up with the fun name – Coworky Awards!  We want to be clear that GCUC does not discriminate – if you identify with GCUC you’re welcome to submit an entry! We will have a combination of votes and a jury to make things as fair as can be.  Special thanks to Coshare, Cohoots foundation and All Good Work for sponsoring this amazing first for our industry.

Best Space Design
A coworking space is defined (pulled from Steve King) as a community space with the objective to work alongside but not necessarily with others.  Coworking spaces are collaborative offices where you’ll see an unoffice like arrangement and discussion is encouraged along with serendipitous interactions. Please highlight what makes your design inspired, unique and cohesive for your community.

Best Social Impact Program
Social impact is the effect an organization’s actions have on the well being of the community.  Your program must be part of the workspace industry or have an impact on the industry to qualify.  (examples but not eligible because they’re sponsoring – Cohoots Foundation and All Good Work)

Volunteer to the greater movement
Think about someone that has selflessly given their time to help move coworking forward not because they’ll make money but because they care.
