Let’s Talk Community

CommunityWhat’s the difference between running an office rental facility and growing a truly impactful collaborative community everyone wants to be a part of? It all comes back to your higher purpose. These days, there’s no shortage of folks looking to make a few bucks renting desks in pretty-looking environments. In this session, I’m going to show you how to stand out from the crowd by going after something fundamentally different, more fulfilling, more compelling, than renting the prettiest workspace could ever be.In this interactive workshop, you’ll get printed worksheets to walk you through some fundamentals to get you started:

  1. We’ll start with WHY. Why does your space matter, really? How can you refine your understanding of that, so you can better share that message with your prospective members? The better you can understand and communicate the deep purpose behind what you’re doing, the better you’ll attract and retain great members.
  1. Now, let’s look at WHO. You don’t just want to rent space to anybody, so who are you really looking to work with? Who do you already have in your community that you can better activate? We’ll look at the different levels of community involvement, who’s in each level, and design ways of approaching each one in a fresh way.
  1. Finally, we’ll work on HOW. How you approach the continuous development of your community will affect not just your performance but your sanity. By taking an approach that allows for you to do seasonal recruiting along with the natural rhythms of your neighborhood, you can recruit more efficiently and effectively, while constantly keeping things fresh for your existing members.

By the end of this workshop, you should be well-equipped to head back home ready to build not just a great workspace, but a lasting, meaningful, fulfilling, thriving community of people who care.
