COVID has made remote work the new normal. Countless office workers are now work from home (WFH) pros. For some, it's an ideal setup—for others, not so much. If predictions hold true, coworking spaces will see a wave of new members as this new workforce moves from their kitchen table into shared workspaces. How do you get people into your space? Content strategist Cat Johnson and marketing coach Karina Patel will share master strategies on differentiating your space, positioning yourself in new markets, and attracting your ideal members.

The Future of Connection

Since its inception in the mid 90’s coworking’s proposition has been community. This would set them apart from conventional serviced offices. Traditional real estate offering has narrowed the gap and the difference between interiors, its services, and activities are almost indistinguishable.

Wild numbers are circulating about community engagement but what exactly is ‘community engagement’ and how important is the relationship between community and retention? Has coworking been able to deliver on their community promise and what do they need to do to stay ahead?

Richard, Becky, Oscar, and Deb will explore how coworking spaces have a unique opportunity with the WFH wave to be part of building collective intelligence through community. Richard and Becky will provide academic research on collective intelligence, complexity of thinking and energizing the community through high quality connections. Oscar and Deb, will share practical examples of how coworking spaces enabled learning, creating collective intelligence and high-quality connections that kept people coming back and created a sense of community.

These differences also extend to business where you have different rules, laws and governance. We want to respect and honor that so we decided to provide some programming just for you. This session will be a little different as we will have an hour roundtable discussion, Q&A and then we will break you into virtual room for a mini unconference. We did a survey and came up with some hot topics that seem to be top of mind for Canadians. Diversity and Inclusion and how we can get better at it. How to structure a JV or Management agreement. Community first, how can we keep our community hubs thriving? Sales and Marketing post COVID to attract new members. We know it’s a lot but we will help you navigate it all.
