Community of Cultivators

Here at GCUC we are immensely fortunate to cross paths and work with so many amazing people. Through our work, we’ve cultivated a global community of people we think you should know about.

Community of Cultivators is a blog series we created to introduce you to coworking game changers and connectors. Each month, we’ll release new interviews that we hope inform and inspire you.

Todays interview is with Jean- Yves Huwart, founder of Social workplaces and Coworking Europe. Not only is he a coworking OG, he is a dear friend of GCUC. Give his answers a read.

The strongest community binds are when people join together on the basis of simply enjoying being with one another, because they share the values and the same humour. This is what makes the most sense and is the most rewarding. Cultivate it. No need to look for rocket community science.

What podcast would you recommend to others and why?

It’s called Startupfood. It’s a France produced podcast by Koudetat (literally a “coup” to connect with the idea of disruption) on Youtube They have French and English contents. It’s a mixture of very consistent advice for entrepreneurs and philosophical comments on entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial environment we live in. It offers a lot of insights and thoughts for any innovation one wants to bring. The lessons go beyond entrepreneurship. It’s valid for any field where and when new fresh dynamics and models are needed.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of becoming an entrepreneur?

Learn by doing. Go to the market as soon as you can to validate your hypothesis and kill your wrong assumptions.
