Don’t Waste a Crisis

No one is untouched by this pandemic.

A small percentage of people are thriving due to circumstances beyond their control.

What no one is talking about is that this is happening to EVERYONE.

We are seeing unprecedented unemployment, struggle and financial angst that is touching everyone.

This will lead to what I like to call the Great Forgiveness. An unprecedented amount of money is going to flow into our economies around the globe to help business. We are all going to get a temporary reprieve from some of our commitments. Will you have to make up for it later? In some cases yes and in some cases, no. We will choose to forgive debts sometimes because we have no choice and sometimes because the other option is a business failing (and no one wants that.) A new kindness will appear out of the ashes. Why? Because we all want the economy to come back and come back strong. We’re coming out of our homes ready to work, buy and thrive.

Help is on the way in a manner you probably can’t even imagine.

Remember post-9/11? We all came together.

In the aftermath of crises we become exceptionally awesome humans. We seriously underestimate the resilience of the human spirit. We will all be changed and our world will be changed forever, but what if we choose to believe the best scenarios instead of the worst?
Worry accomplishes nothing. Fear is a liar. You control your brain, so shift it.

What should you be doing right now?

  1. Don’t let a good crisis go to waste. Pivot, evolve, make new things, learn, grow and share it with others
  2. Ask yourself what you can do today to serve your community. Nothing can get you out of yourself like helping someone else.
  3. You’ve been given the gift of time. What you do today will determine your success later.
  4. Communicate to your community and keep it real.

This pandemic is scary and unknown and it’s going to get worse.

So, hunker down and tell the ones you love that you love them. Pick up the damn phone. Go for a walk outside every single day no matter what. You only get one body, take good care of it. What if you decided to come out of quarantine looking and feeling physically better? It is 100% up to you.

Most importantly choose to shift your mindset. This too shall pass.

Be kind to yourself – Everything is going to be okay.
