Community of Cultivators

Here at GCUC we are immensely fortunate to cross paths and work with so many amazing people. Through our work, we’ve cultivated a global community of people we think you should know about.

Community of Cultivators is a blog series we created to introduce you to coworking game changers and connectors. Each month, we’ll release new interviews that we hope inform and inspire you.

This week we had the pleasure of interviewing Jonathan Wright from Colliers. If you attended our GCUC APAC series, you have definitely seen him as he was one of our programing partners and speakers. To get to know him a bit better, keep reading.

I am very proud of having created a business line within Colliers that has now gone global. The decision to launch flexible workspace consulting in Asia back in 2015 has proven, with the benefit of a sector that rose rapidly, to have been a great decision and it has been fulfilling to be part of a shift in the office market.

It has not been without its challenges, and many challenges still exist, but it has allowed me to be involved in great conversations and to execute on strategies that have, and will continue to, change markets.

What is one piece of advice you give everyone that works with and/or for you?

Dare to think differently and push conventional wisdom, then work hard and demonstrate persistence to execute. I am not sure that is one piece of advice, but there you go.

If you had $500 to spend-what would you buy?

Normally I would try and say something profound here, but given I haven’t left Hong Kong this year due to Covid-19 then I would use the $500.00 on a flight to literally anywhere as soon as we can travel again!

What is the best habit you ever started? What habit do you want to start but haven’t yet?

In the last few months I have started waking up early, around 5:30am. This makes a really positive impact on my days, but everyone is different so this wouldn’t work for everyone.

Two habits I want to start – working out consistently in that early morning time slot and the second would be taking regular detoxes from my phone.
