CAMP GCUCALL: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO OPEN A FLEXIBLE WORKSPACE.
Just because you’re a novice or don’t have a workspace (yet) doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the all the juicy fun.

Camp GCUCALL: What is it?
It’s the perfect opportunity for industry novices to learn everything about opening, managing, and growing a flexible workspace. The day will be divided into five sessions that’ll cover community, technology, design, legal and finance. We’ll get real about what it takes to be successful and we’ll close off the day with a campfire, s’mores, and (duh!) a happy hour.

What you can Expect (An early morning? We’ll have the coffee ready.)
We’ll kick the day off with registration and orientation before we dive into the world of workspace finance. The first session will dwell on the costs of owning and running a workspace location; spreadsheets will make an appearance, we’ll talk about the nitty gritty numbers, and, by the time we’re done, numbers won’t be putting you off anymore.

The flexible workspace industry focuses heavily on community, and that’s exactly what we’ll do on our second session. In just one hour, you can expect to learn what community is, how you can get it, nurture it, build on it, and give back to it.

Next comes design–a popular topic in the industry. Doesn’t matter what type of workspace you’re thinking of opening, you need to have a clear idea of what you want your space to offer. We’ll discuss everything from space layout, furniture, private spaces, and  open spaces, all the way to plants, color, decoration, and everything else in between. Our stomachs will start grumbling by then. We’ll have lunch and, to avoid post-lunch sleepiness, we’ll have a scavenger hunt.

Our fourth session will cover technology. Software, hardware, equipment, AI, collaboration apps, mobile — basically everything that can help you better manage and run your location(s). Tech experts specializing in our industry will share the tech must-haves for workspaces as well as everything else that you need not worry about.

The fifth and last session will cover negotiation and legal issues that you’ll need to be familiar with to get your workspace going. That’s it! Time to enjoy yourself and network with the rest of GCUCALL attendees while sipping on cocktails and making s’mores.

*Camp GCUCALL is a separate event to GCUCALL Conference. You can get your Camp GCUCALL tickets here.
