GCUC UK 2022 Recap

GCUC UK 2022 was a smash hit. We had an amazing time connecting with owners, operators and industry players from across the globe. We had international delegates from Australia, the US, Malta, Belgium, Germany and Canada all join us in London for this year’s event. It was quite a time.

The day started off with a data packed presentation from the Instant group that set the tone for the rest of the day. Did someone say 90% occupancy across the board?

We then moved into discussions centering around the current landscape and what we see for the evolution of flexible workspace business models. After some interesting insights from operators deep in the trenches we heard from some of the industry providers and experts.

Moderated by Justin Harley, Regional Director from Yardi, we jumped right into talking about what flex workspace operators need to consider when expanding their footprint then How those same operators are/should be adapting with rising costs.

After lunch we flew through sessions on …

• A debate on if asset management was compatible with flex
• A real time ESG case study
• A fun and informative presentation about gaining freedom from sq feet and leveraging your address as an additional revenue stream via virtual services
• And lastly we ended up with crowd led “ask us anything” sessions where expert speakers from the day took questions from the audience.

We wrapped up the first day with a very purple happy hour courtesy of the team at Pilotomail.

On the second day, we set out on foot and toured spaces all across the city.

The day started with views of The ministry and Techspace and a session from the ROOM team and wrapped the day with a tour of the Xhcg space and 22 bishopsgate building. The views from the 54th floor were stunning. In between we toured:

• Office space in town

All in all it was a fantastic time and we are so happy to have been able to gather the industry in person again this year. There is something to be said for the connections made when breaking bread and sharing knowledge.
